The Office of Student Services works collaboratively with programs and departments both within the college and across the university to provide students with accurate, friendly, and professional service. In efforts to provide all of our students with an excellent college experience, we offer services in undergraduate academic advising, educator certification, scholarships, student organizations, field experience and clinical practice placement and extracurricular student programs and events.
Part of the Office of Student Services, the Office of Field Experience and Clinical Practice helps students with course-required placement in schools, community health clinics, mentor programs and other community settings.
UGA students are required to meet with an academic advisor every semester. Students are cleared to register for classes the following semester only after meeting with an advisor. Appointments tend to fill up later in the semester; thus, students are encouraged to schedule their advising appointments early. College of Education undergraduate students should schedule their appointments through SARA (Student Advising and Registration Assistant).
The College of Education cares about meeting its student financial needs. The College offers numerous scholarship opportunities for COE Students. In addition to utilizing resources through the UGA Office of Financial Aid, students can apply for COE scholarships and assistantships to aid in tuition costs and living expenses.
Interested in learning abroad? The College of Education has several study abroad programs and opportunities for service learning outside the United States.
The College of Education student ambassadors is a group of undergraduate students who act as official hosts and representatives of the College. Ambassadors meet with prospective students, facilitate orientation activities, provide building tours, support outreach and recruitment initiatives, and provide strong student support at events such as open houses, welcome back events, convocation, and other recognition ceremonies.
The College of Education has several student organizations for students to get involved. These organizations cover a broad range of interests related to education and are registered with the university's Center for Student Organizations. In addition to providing an outlet for networking with other students and professionals, student organizations create opportunities for students to enhance leadership skills and develop professional and interpersonal skills.
