Call for Papers
The International Society for the Dialogical Self and the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research in Education and Human Development in the College of Education at the University of Georgia invite all interested scholars to submit proposals.
Submissions will open: September 1, 2011
The deadline for submissions: April 30, 2012
The conference will include the following session formats:
1. Research and Theory Based Studies
Paper Sessions. Research or theory-based studies that will be collected under a common theme by the organizers
Posters. Research is presented via posters. Attendees are invited to interact with the authors
Symposia. A collection of research papers are presented around a common theme proposed and organized by session authors.
Interactive Symposia. Symposia in which time is allotted for interactive participation attendees
2. Alternative Forms of Scholarship
Extended Dialogue. (A New Format for This Conference)
The entire session is designed as a conversation in which attendees and session leaders explore an issue crucial to research, theory, or practice. For example, attendees might be invited to dialogue around the complexities of using narrative as a means for helping school students make meaning of ways they have been marginalized by school.
Workshops. Interactive sessions that focus on implementation of dialogical self theory
Panel Discussions: Panel members discuss an issue pertinent to dialogical self theory, research, or practice
