Dean’s Office
Associate Dean for Academic Programs
This office handles four major areas within the college: assessment and accreditation, curriculum processes, technology initiatives and student affairs. Specifically, the office oversees the College’s overall performance-based assessment system by assisting programs with ongoing national, state and university program assessment and accreditation efforts, managing the collection of information for various College reports, and working with external bodies including the Professional Standards Commission and Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. This office also facilitates curricular changes within the College, serves in a coordinating role to the College’s international efforts, and oversees the Student Services Office.
Associate Dean for Faculty & Finance
This office handles the day-to-day operation of the College and also serves as the initial point of contact for requests from central administration and department heads regarding college issues and funding matters. Oversight of Faculty Services and the Business Office falls under this office. This office is responsible for preparing and presenting budget reports to the Provost, faculty employment issues such as promotion and post tenure reviews, ensures appropriate policies and guidelines are in place, and represents the Dean at functions and meetings when he is unavailable.
Associate Dean for Outreach & Engagement
The College of Education’s outreach and engagement efforts connect our faculty, staff and students to the larger community, its schools, neighborhoods and families. Our initiatives build relationships and provide individuals’ access to our pre-service, graduate and professional development programs. Our engagement efforts build partnerships and become entrepreneurial in bringing new resources and collaborators together. We identify the needs of schools, workplaces and communities striving to bring theory and practice together. We are committed to translating what we learn through research and what we teach in the classroom into the daily lives of citizens across Georgia and around the world.
Associate Dean for Research
Researchers at the University of Georgia’s College of Education are at the forefront of asking questions and posing innovative solutions to some of the most challenging questions facing us today. To help facilitate research at the University of Georgia, the research office connects to other units within the University, including the Office of the Vice President for Research, Sponsored Programs, and other fiscal and administrative units relevant to grant and contract management. We are committed to strengthening an inclusive environment that supports collaborative inquiry for faculty whose work serves UGA’s research mission. Resources provide support to faculty and students involved in the implementation, and production of research using the breadth of theoretical perspectives and research methodologies across disciplines.
