The Special Education Undergraduate Online Program is for individuals interested in earning a B.S.Ed. from the University of Georgia and becoming fully certified in the area of Special Education General Curriculum via our specially designed online undergraduate program. This program, based at the University of Georgia (UGA), is the only online bachelor’s degree program offered in the field of Education through a University System of Georgia (USG) Institution
The Special Education Undergraduate Online Program is designed for individuals who have an associates degree or who have completed all core coursework (Areas I – VI).
If you…
- have 60 transferable college credit hours
- have at least a 2.8 GPA
- have completed or satisfied areas I-VI (formerly areas A-F) of the University System of Georgia’s core requirements
- have passed or exempted GACE Basic Skills Assessment
- are a Georgia resident
then the Special Education Undergraduate Online program may be for you!
Special Education Undergraduate Online follows a cohort model that requires you take all of your courses and complete your practicum experiences in a particular sequence. Undergrad cohorts are accepted annually to begin in the fall. The Special Education Undergraduate Online program follows this program of study.
How to Apply for Special Education Undergraduate Online
Before applying to Special Education Undergraduate Online, we suggest you first fax or email us a copy of your transcripts along with a completed Transcript Review Coversheet .
- If you would like to self-evaluate whether or not your coursework will transfer before faxing or emailing your transcript, use the Transfer Equivalency Search site at www.admissions.uga.edu/apps/transferequiv/.
- If there are core courses you still need, you may wish to consider using “Georgia On My Line…Online” at http://www.georgiaonmyline.org/.
When you are ready to apply…
1. Complete the UGA transfer student application online at: http://www.admissions.uga.edu/article/transfer_application_information.html
2. Download the Special Education Undergraduate Online Application (pdf)*, print it out, complete it in its entirety and mail it to the address indicated.
