Three Technology Education Students Win First Place for Video in Regional Competition

Three College of Education students were recently awarded first place for an educational video they created in a Live Communication Contest at the annual east regional Technology Education Collegiate Association (TECA) meeting at Virginia Beach, VA.

Technology education students Spencer Clark, Hong Feng and Soo Jung Kim were recognized for their work in producing an educational video titled “Our Digital World.” The three are students of Roger Hill, a professor of workforce education, leadership and social foundations.

The UGA students competed against teams of students from 14 universities in six other states in various technological challenges and attended seminars that promoted technology and engineering education.

The unique feature of the conference is its competitions. Students face challenging objectives in a variety of technological fields such as manufacturing, transportation, problem-solving, instruction/lesson planning, communication, and automated systems. Graduate and undergraduate students are given a particular directive to accomplish within a given field and compete against the clock to surpass their peers.
