COE Staff Receives Equipment Inventory Training

College of Education staff received training February 18 on equipment inventory in one of an ongoing series of in-house training programs began before the COE reorganization.

Representatives of the COE's Business Office and UGA's Property Control jointly hosted the session for staff who are responsible for the tracking of inventory. Lunch was also served to those attending.

"I know the last year and a half has been difficult with reorganization transitions but hopefully everything will start to get easier with new account numbers for each department. I appreciate all that the staff does and know that the college could not function without their tremendous work," said Cheri Hoy, interim associate dean for faculty, administration and finance. "This training will help them learn some of the details about inventory and property control which they may not know because it has been managed at the school levels before. Understanding why things are done sometimes makes the tasks easier."

Previous COE in-house training sessions for staff included:

  • Basic Excel
  • Advanced Excel
  • Accounting Principles and Practices
  • Payroll
  • Using the financial template
  • Overview of the FIRST System

Future training sessions include:

  • Summer School
  • On-line Purchasing
  • Others TBD as needed
