![]() Nationally Recognized Researcher in Latino Education Toni Griego Jones to Speak at UGA in CLASE Seminar Series on March 25 Toni Griego Jones, an expert on Latino education, will speak at the University of Georgia College of Education on Friday, March 25. Griego Jones, an associate professor in Teaching and Teacher Education at the University of Arizona, will give a talk titled, “Contributions of Hispanic Parents' Perspectives to Teacher Preparation,” as part of UGA's Center for Latino Achievement and Success in Education (CLASE) Seminar Series. The talk will take place from 11:30-12:30 p.m. in Room G-23 of Aderhold Hall and is open to the public. A reception is scheduled following the presentation. Griego Jones is co-author of the book, Teaching Hispanic Children, and her research focuses on the fields of bilingual education, education of Hispanic students, and perspectives of participants in educational reform. She is currently researching perspectives of Hispanic parents on teacher preparation and teaches courses in the initial teacher preparation programs and graduate courses in social justice, teacher leadership, and bilingual education at the University of Arizona. The CLASE Seminar Series brings to campus experts on issues related to the education of Latino/Hispanic students in the United States.
