![]() COE Online News Receives Grand Award in 2005 CASE III Competition The College of Education Online News has been selected as a Grand Award recipient in the 2005 Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District III Advancement Awards in the category of electronic newsletters and tabloids. COE Online News was recognized from among 23 entries submitted by college and university public relations professionals from throughout nine Southeastern states that comprise District III: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. This is the third year in a row the web site has been recognized with a CASE award. The COE's online news site (http://www.coe.uga.edu/coenews) -- conceived and designed by retired director of communications Charles Connor, and Michael Childs, director of public information -- has drawn nearly 40,000 individual visits over the past three years. Childs directs daily operation as editor of the news site along with web assistance from Julie Sartor. The COE Online News is a product of the Office of Communications & Publications, which operates under the auspices of the Associate Dean for Research, Technology, and External Affairs.
