Reeves Selected One of First AACE Fellows

College of Education professor Thomas C. Reeves has been selected as one of the first two Fellows of the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE), an international professional association.

Reeves, a professor in instructional technology, was recognized because of his outstanding contributions to AACE though his involvement in ED-MEDIA – a World Conference on Educational Multimedia, Hypermedia and Telecommunications, and the Journal of Interactive Learning Research.

His strong international reputation and steady support for ED-MEDIA has helped the conference to grow to into the world's premier conference on educational multimedia and telecommunications.

As founding editor of the Journal of Interactive Learning Research, Reeves helped establish the journal as a world leader in the publication and dissemination of cutting edge research and writing.

Only two Fellows receive the honor each year. This is the first year of the fellowship program, which seeks to honor the significant contributions of AACE members to the promotion and advancement of contemporary technologies in teaching and learning.

“AACE has been a perfect outlet for my service aspirations,” said Reeves. “I urge all faculty members, whatever stage of career they are in, to become actively involved in professional associations such as AACE. In my experience, the investment is professionally and personally rewarding beyond my greatest expectations.” The AACE is an international, educational and professional organization dedicated to the advancement of the knowledge, theory, and quality of learning and teaching at all levels with information technology.
