DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE OF THE TELL PROGRAM
-    The Teachers for English Language Learners (TELL) Program is designed to increase the number of highly qualified bilingual teachers in Georgia’s public schools. This is accomplished through the collaboration of representatives from The University of Georgia, The Clarke County School District, Hall County School District, and Gainesville City Schools. Non-certified teachers and paraprofessionals --who are bilingual--are awarded scholarships and other support services to earn professional certification. In return, they must commit to teaching three years in the schools of Clarke or Hall counties.

-    The purpose of the program is to facilitate recruitment and retention of a diversified pool of teachers and teacher education students in the state of Georgia  so that they may enter into mutually satisfying careers as teachers, advocates, and educators in Georgia public schools.

Visit the TELL web site www.coe.uga.edu/dev/tell/index.htm.
