Elizabeth Ross Hubbell, who received a BSEd in early childhood education at UGA in 1995, was one of four finalists for Technology and Learning magazine's 2003 Ed Tech Leader of the Year.
Hubbell, a native of Brunswick, was selected as one of the finalists for her work at the Montessori School of Denver in Colorado. The magazine described her as "a pioneering elementary teacher who has successfully merged the philosophies of Montessori education and those of the Information Age."
After graduating from UGA, Hubbell moved to Boca Raton, Fl., where she received her Montessori training. After teaching in Florida for three years, she moved to Denver and has taught at the Montessori School of Denver for nearly six years.
