Doctoral Program in Exercise Science Ranked in Top 10
The College of Education's doctoral program in exercise science has been
ranked in the Top 10 in the nation in several indexes reflecting aspects of
program quality by The American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education.
Out of 26 participating institutions, UGA’s exercise science doctoral program ranked:
– 3rd in visibility (based on number of books published, number of editorial boards, and number of fellowships in professional organizations),
– 7th in productivity (based on number of refereed journal articles/book chapters/monographs, number of national/international presentations, and total amount of external funding),
– 6th in faculty contribution to graduate program (based on number of advisees, number of advisees who graduated, and number of graduates who found employment within the field), and
– 10th in student attraction (based on number of applications).
