Pink Face: The Media's 'Don't Ask, Do Tell' Revolution This diversity seminar will take a look at the gay community through the eyes or lenses of the media. Is what's on TV and in magazines and movies true? How do images of gay men and women, both positive and negative, shape the public's view on this emerging culture? Are films like "Boat Trip" bad? Do gays need their own TV channel? Should children be exposed to alternative lifestyles? Why is European media different? Join a discussion on the media's fascination with growing up gay. The seminar is sponsored by the College of Education's Multicultural Education Initiative. April 16, 12:10 p.m. Room 417, Aderhold Hall |
