Four in Athletic Training Receive National Scholarships Four students in the University of Georgia’s athletic training program, based in the College of Education, have received national scholarships for the 2003-04 academic year. Kevin Bunn and Chad Hyatt received master’s level scholarships, and Tamerah Hunt and Steve Broglio received doctoral level scholarships. The scholarships, among 60 awarded each year by The National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), are worth $2,000 each. Applicants must have a minimum 3.2 GPA, be sponsored by a certified athletic trainer and be a member of the NATA. Bunn, of Marietta, graduated from UGA in May 2003 with a BSEd in exercise science with an emphasis in athletic training. He plans to attend graduate school in the fall at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to continue his study of athletic training. Hyatt, of Roanoke, Va., received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in May 2002 and currently serves as the graduate assistant athletic trainer for the UGA football team. He will be a second-year master’s student in sport studies. Hunt, of Cheltenham, Md., received her undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware and her master’s degree from James Madison University. She will be a second-year doctoral student in exercise science. Broglio, of Charleston, W.Va., received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He will be a second-year doctoral student in exercise science.
