Services - Circulation Policies
Generally, use of materials at the Curriculum Materials Library is available to anyone, but circulation privileges are limited to UGA faculty, staff and students.
General Collection
Juvenile and young adult literature books may be charged out according to one’s patron group: faculty receive a 180-day checkout, graduate students and library staff are given 56-day checkout, and undergraduates and unniversity staff are permitted 28-day checkout. K-12 textbooks, supplementary teaching materials, posters, vertical file and other curriculum materials are charge out for two weeks. Media circulates for one week. Back issues of periodicals circulate for three days to faculty only.
Reserve Materials
Materials are available for one-day, three-day, and, seven-day loan periods. All three-day and seven-day books may be checked out any time during the day and are due any time during the date stamped in the book. One-day books may be checked out anytime during the day and are due on the date stamped, one hour after the Center opens.
Recalls
If a patron cannot find an item on the shelf, the patron may inquire at the Information Desk to determine if the item is checked out. If the item is checked out, the patron may place a recall on the book. The recall process can begin after the book has been out for two weeks. When the item is returned the patron who requested the recall is notified.
Search Service
If a patron is unable to locate a book on the shelf, and if that book is not charged out, the patron may request a search for the book at the Information Desk. The patron is notified when the book is located or if it cannot be found.
