Services - Faculty Reserve Procedures
The reserve policies and procedures of the Curriculum Materials Library conform to those of the Main and Science libraries in as many aspects as possible. However, open shelving for most reserve books is unique to the CML.
Check out periods for these books and also reserve items housed behind the Circulation desk will be 7 days, 3 days, 1 day or noncirculating. One day books may be checked out anytime during the day and are due the next day, one hour after the Center opens. 7-day and 3-day books may be checked out anytime during the day, and are due anytime during the date stamped in the back.
Faculty may select the type of loan period which seems most appropriate for their needs. If the same book is put on reserve for more than one course, priority will be given to the most restrictive loan period requested. Materials requested for reserve are processed as quickly as possible though it is always best to arrange for reserves before the semester begins. Material is placed on reserve on a semester by semester basis. All items will be removed at the end of final examinations unless a specific request to retain the material is made.
Reserve items at the CML may include books (unless already in a restricted collection), media, journal articles, and personal copies. Only materials located in the Curriculum Materials Library or materials which are included in the Curriculum Materials Collection Development Policy will be placed on reserve. Books requested for reserve that are not part of the Curriculum Collection will be placed on reserve in the appropriate library.
