  • New GALILEO Password: Ah, a fresh year, a fresh semester and a fresh GALILEO Password. Please visit the Libraries’ Homepage and follow the link on the left for “GALILEO Password” to get the Spring 2013 GALILEO Password.

    • The GALILEO K-12 Community (different from the UGA Community) also has a new password. Using this password is a great way to introduce your students to the GALILEO Community they will encounter as teachers. Problems or questions? Drop Carla Wilson Buss a note or call on 706.542.2996.

  • New Write-n-Cite Available NOW: If you’re a RefWorks user, you’ll be pleased to learn there is a new version of Write-N-Cite and it is available NOW. This update is for both PC & Mac users and the folks at RefWorks have been busy correcting “bugs & flaws” in Write-N-Cite 4. Visit the RefWorks site to download the update.

  • NPR’s Best Heroines of 2012: NPR has compiled a list of the best heroines in fiction, who, according to their website “…aren’t defined by their desire to love or be loved – or even to be especially lovable. Writer and critic Parul Sehgal celebrates five sublimely stubborn women, frequently at odds with themselves and always at odds with their times.”

  • Library Instruction Sessions: It’s not too early (nor too late) to schedule an instruction session for your class. Why should you? Because the tech savvy generation doesn’t always know everything and these sessions take some of the fear of research out of the equation. Besides, Nadine Cohen & Carla Wilson Buss really like to do these. Making librarians happy –do you really need another reason to call?
