About Tutoring at Pinewood Branch Library
The Pinewood Branch Library, also known as “Pinewoods,” opened in Spring, 2005, and is part of the Athens Regional Library system. The library offers programs ranging from the Mexican Consulate's “Plaza Comunitaria” adult education program, to guitar lessons, to computer literacy, and more!
UGA began supporting a tutoring program at Pinewood library in Fall 2005. Tutoring includes homework help, literacy activities, and other academic support, for students in upper elementary and middle school. Tutees also can use the Library’s computers and educational programs to support their learning after their homework is complete.
Pinewood Branch Library:
Tutoring of elementary and middle school students, different time slots available 3:00–6:00 p.m., Monday–Thursday
Fall Semester 2009: Tutoring orientation sessions at Pinewoods, August 24th or 26th at 4 p.m. Tutoring begins the week of August 31.
Volunteers at Pinewoods should complete and turn in to the library, the following two forms:

Pinewood Library
Take Loop 10 to Hwy 29 N. Drive past Athens Tech and cross Hull Road. Go 1.5 miles and make a left at the Exxon Station onto Trail Creek Drive (this is Pinewood Estates North) (across the street from Athens Christian school). Drive slowly due to speed bumps. When the road splits, bear right. Finally take a left onto F-G or G-H Street. The Pinewood Library/Plaza Comunitaria is a gray trailer on lot G-10.
