The Goizueta Foundation Graduate Scholars
Five outstanding graduate students at the University of Georgia have been awarded assistantships for 2007-08 through The Goizueta Foundation Graduate Scholars Fund. These recipients have excellent breadth and depth of experience in Latino educational issues and are committed to helping further CLASE's mission at UGA and across the state.

Lisa Chaudhari is a doctoral student in Anthropology, focusing on health care access and shifting knowledge, perceptions and behavior in Trinidad and Tobago. She has a BS from the University of California, Los Angeles in Ecology and Geography with a minor in African Studies. Lisa has worked with innovative outreach programs since high school, including programs linking communities and local environmental efforts. She also created and ran specialized after school and summer programs in Los Angeles and Guinea, West Africa; currently she also works with adult English language learners in Athens. |

Stephanie Clouse is a doctoral student in Counseling Psychology. She has degrees from Arizona State University and Ohio University and experience in providing therapy to Latinos in several contexts. She is a member of the National Latina/o Psychological Association. |

Marta Dean is an Ed.S. student in Language & Literacy Education. Originally from Spain, she worked with CLASE during 2004-05 then taught Spanish at Cedar Shoals High School in Athens. |

Gabrielle Garner is a doctoral student in instructional technology in the Department of Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology at UGA. She holds a master’s in Hispanic Studies with an emphasis on language acquisition from LSU, as well as a bachelor’s in international studies and Spanish. Gabrielle is proficient in Spanish and has taught college-level Spanish as well as taken part in study-abroad programs to Spain. |

Dalcy Moreno is a masters student in Language and Literacy Education and in her second year of work with CLASE. Originally from Bolivia, Dalcy has also been an ESOL and Spanish teacher in the Milledgeville area. |
