There are five major areas of coursework for the MAT Program of Study:
Workforce Education Core Courses – 18 semester credit hours:
WFED 6010 – Foundations of Work and Family Life
WFED 6350 – Curriculum Planning in Workforce Education
WFED 6360 – Instructional Strategies in Workforce Education
WFED 7020 – Assessing Student Learning in Workforce Education
WFED 7550 – Students with Special Needs in Workforce Education hours
WFED 7560 – Diversity in Workforce Education
Educational Psychology Courses – 3 semester credit hours:
EPSY 6010 – Foundations of Human Development

EPSY 6060 – Foundations of Motivation
-OR-
EPSY 6800 – Foundations of Cognition
Educational Research Courses – 3 semester credit hours:
ERSH 6200 – Methods of Research in Education
Teaching Internship – 12 semester credit hours:
WFED 7460 – Internship in Teaching Workforce Education
Note: Teaching internship must either be a full-time student teaching experience for one-semester (12 semester credit hours) or a full-time employed teaching internship in a public school in the field and at the level for which certification is sought (6 semester credit hours fall semester, 6 semester credit hours spring semester)
