The Workforce Education program offers three distinct Master’s degrees.
- Master’s of Arts in Teaching (MAT)
- Online Master’s in Education (MED-Online)
- Blended-Hybrid Master’s in Education – Griffin (MED Blended – Griffin)
Master’s degrees in Workforce Education provides graduates with expertise to guide student learning in career and technical education for both academic and industry settings. The typical program of study requires a minimum of 36 semester hours of course work beyond the bachelor’s degree.
MAT Option:
The Master’s of Arts for Teachers (MAT) degree is designed for individuals who are not professionally certified to teach in a Career and Technical Education instructional field. This degree provides coursework for attaining initial teacher certification in one of the Career and technical Education fields plus additional coursework that leads to a masters degree in education.
MED Options:
Online MED is offered through a 100% online format. Students are admitted into the Online MED each academic term.
MED Blended – Griffin is offered in blended-hybrid instructional format utilizing a combination of face-to-face along with online instruction. It features a prescriptive curricular program of study where 75% of instruction takes place online and 25% of instruction is face-to-face at the UGA Griffin campus. Students are admitted into the MED Blended – Griffin each academic term.
