Endorsements in Workforce Education

Individuals may seek to add additional teaching and leadership endorsements to their present teaching certificate in areas under the Program of Workforce Education.

Area of Endorsements

Coordinator of Vocational Academic Education (CVAE)
An individual with the Coordinator of Vocational Academic Education (CVAE) endorsement is in-field to coordinate CVAE programs in grades 7-12. To add CVAE an applicant shall:

  1. possess a professional certificate at the bachelors or higher certification level in any teaching field or the service field of School Counselor provided that a teaching field has been established
  2. complete an approved program or 9 semester hours of acceptable college credit to include the following:
  • 3 semester hours in guidance for the handicapped or disadvantaged
  • 3 semester hours in curriculum planning, evaluation, and delivery systems in cooperative education
  • 3 semester hours in curriculum planning, evaluation, and delivery systems in cooperative education.

Related Vocational Instruction (RVI)
An individual with the Related Vocational Instruction (RVI) endorsement is in-field to provide vocational instruction to students identified as having special education needs in grades 7-12. To add RVI an applicant shall:

  1. possess a professional certificate at the bachelors or higher certification level in any special-education field
  2. complete an approved program or 9 semester hours of acceptable college credit to include the following:
  • 3 semester hours in vocational development in curriculum for the handicapped
  • 3 semester hours in vocational and technical education for the handicapped
  • 3 semester hours in a year-long, school-based internship.
