The UGA Academic Honesty Short Form

What is Academic Honesty?

Academic Honesty, as defined by the Office of the Vice President for Instruction (OVPI), is:

"the performance of all academic work without plagiarism, cheating, lying, stealing, or receiving assistance from any other person or using any source of information that is not common knowledge or is not appropriately authorized or attributed."

All students must comply with the academic honesty policy (Culture of Honesty) and the code of honest behavior. In addition, it is the responsibility of all members of the university community to be aware of and uphold the policy. The complete policy is available online.
