About Counseling & Human Development Services |
The UGA Academic Honesty Short FormThe Department of Counseling and Human Development Services (CHDS) works to promote and uphold the University of Georgia's academic honesty policy as set by the Office of the Vice President for Instruction (OVPI). The department seeks to maintain the personal integrity of all academic work done by its students. The academic honesty policy applies to both students and all those in the university community. By doing so, it ensures the veracity of students' work and that they might reap the honors and praise they are due. While the Academic Honesty Policy is made readily available in a number of forms, it is still the responsibility of the entire academic community to be aware of and follow the policy and its procedures. To help students with their understanding, this website has been created to offer a student-friendly way to become familiar with the academic honesty policy. The pages in this website break down the policy into small segments and give everyday examples of its applications. CHDS students are asked to review this student-friendly version of the academic honesty policy. After reviewing the policy and its examples, each student will be taken through a series of exercise pages. Students are asked to print the pledge certificate at the end of the exercises and return a copy to your advisor for your permanent file. Note: This short form of the academic honesty policy does not replace or override the official academic honesty policy of the university. It is only meant to be a supplement to help students better understand the lengthier document. Any and all specific questions regarding the academic honesty policy should be directed to the Office of the Vice President for Instruction, whose information is listed on our Contacts page.
