Professional Counseling, Specialization: School Counseling, M.Ed.

2006 Cohort

Stacey Wolfe

Electronic Portfolio

Level:

I am originally from Wausau, Wisconsin. I received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology in 2003 from the University of Georgia. Throughout the years I have tutored At-Risk Children and I have worked with elementary school children at a school camp. I was always passionate about becoming a counselor, but it was working in a Law Firm with a Divorce Attorney that strengthened my decision. From this experience, I witnessed many children's needs ignored through the divorce process. It was obvious that from life changing experiences such as a divorce, the children were affected academically, behaviorally and socially.

I chose the University of Georgia because of its commitment to transforming the role of the school counselor and its emphasis that ALL children have the capacity to learn. I believe that the mission and model that the UGA curriculum follows is essential for becoming a successful school counselor. The cohort program has facilitated my personal and professional growth while being very supportive.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, I would be glad to help!
