Electronic Portfolio

Level:

Hello, my name is Aimee Lynette Pierre, and I am originally from Alliance, Ohio.  I graduated from Spelman College in May of 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Child Development.  As a high school student I develop a strong interest in working with children in an elementary school setting, however, I was not sure of the role I wanted to take on. While studying at Spelman College I participated in various volunteer activities that sparked a strong interest in child advocacy, and I felt that becoming a school counselor would be an excellent way for me to work as an advocate for children and adolescents.

I chose the School Counseling Program at the University of Georgia because of the strong emphasis placed on developing culturally responsive professional school counselors, and the collaborative relationship created with various professional educators.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
