Douglas Kleiber was featured on the UGA Home Page November 12 and 13th promoting the theme of "Maximizing Research Opportunities."

Gwynn Powell and three RLST students enrolled in RLST 2800: Programming and Leadership in Leisure Services, John Allbritton, John Newman and Katie Bourke were featured in an article by Sarah Luppen titled "Student Charity Needed at Holidays" in the Tuesday, November 11, 2003 issue of the Red and Black, p. 3.

Leslie Black (M.Ed. '02) leslieblack@athensclarkecounty.com was pictured in the October 27th, 2003 issue of Athens Banner-Herald, as she and Mary Costa accepted a donation from Sonny Wilson, representative from Athens Elks Lodge No. 790, for ACC Leisure Services' Project REACH summer day camp.

Gwynn Powell was quoted in the article "Fall break: Gaines, Chase go camping - County helps get kids out of class" about the work Gwynn and her RLST students are doing at Chase and Gaines Street Elementary Schools that is a part of their extended-year calendar in the Athens Banner-Herald on Friday, October 17, 2003. http://www.onlineathens.com/stories/101703/fea_20031017060.shtml

A story "UGA professor to be honored with top NRPA award" about Douglas Kleiber winning the prestigious Theodore and Franklin Roosevelt Award for Excellence in Recreation and Park Research was published in the Athens Banner-Herald on Saturday, October 18, 2003. http://www.onlineathens.com/stories/101803/uga_kleiber.shtml

Master's student Nate Olive and Sarah Janes were featured in the article "Trekking for Children: Nate Olive and Friends Take on Two of America's Most Challenging Scenic Trails for Charity" in the September 2003 issue of Around the Arch: News for Alumni and Friends of the University of Georgia, page 7.

Undergraduate student, James Booth, was featured in an article in the August 27th Red and Black because he was a contestant on the Price is Right this summer and won $4,770.

Gwynn Powell was quoted in the July 8th Athens Banner-Herald in the article titled "UGA looks for lessons in school partnership." The article highlighted contributions made by Gwynn and RLST students.

John Dattilo was identified and pictured in an article on the Leisure, Inclusion and Disability Congress in Bilbao, Spain, in the July 5th edition of El Correo newspaper. Also, a feature article by Maria Alvarez on Dattilo's work and position on inclusion and leisure for people with disabilities appeared in the July 4th edition of Deia newspaper.
