In the News Doug Kleiber: was featured in the January 12th edition of the UGA Columns describing his research accomplishments and his recent acceptance of the Theodore and Franklin Roosevelt Award for Excellence in Research bestowed by the National Recreation and Park Association. was featured in an article that appeared in the spring 2004 edition of the UGA Biomedical and Health Sciences newsletter Health Sciences describing his contributions as a researcher and his recent prestigious award by the National Recreation and Park Association. Gwynn Powell: and students in her classes, John Newman and Sarah Slagel were quoted in the Athens-Banner-Herald on February 16, 2004 for their work with the Partnership for Community Learning Centers at Chase Street Elementary. was one of two researchers mentioned in Washington Post columnist John Kelly's June 22 article on summer camps. Alum John Ward (B.S. '00) johnward@co.clarke.ga.us was featured in an article "A-C's new ordinance enforcer planning to lay down the law" in the February 26, 2004 edition of the Athens Banner-Herald. was featured in an article titled "Ordinance patrollers log more than 1,000 violators" in the Tuesday, March 23, 2004 edition of the Red and Black. Agata Cioroch was profiled in an article "Ciorich stars as an ace for team" in the February 19th edition of the Red and Black. The article describes her exploits as the top-ranked singles player in the country as she plays for RLS alum and Head Coach of the Women's Tennis Team, Jeff Wallace (B.S. Ô85) jwallace@sports.uga.edu Diane Samdahl was quoted in the March 31st edition of the Augusta Chronicle in the article: Knitting group provides therapy: Stitching binds UGA students." BlazeSports Clubs of America sponsored the 2004 National Disability Sports Conference at UGA March 8-10 and was featured on the cover of the March 22nd edition UGA Columns.
