Instructional Support Carter Betz, cbetz01@fs.fed.usOutdoor Recreation Planner for the USDA Forest Service, has been working with RLST graduate students including, Angela Cobbs, Stephen Maynard, and Rebecca McWhorter on research methods and statistics.
George Patrick GPatrick@cc.nih.gov, Chief of the Recreation Therapy Section of the Rehabilitation Medicine Department at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD, spoke at a seminar on April 8th about program offerings at the NIH Center and about program evaluation and research in recreation therapy. Students in attendance were Kristi Townsend, Andi Gutting, Lucretia Smith, Gini Merrit, Chelsea Murphy, Mary Lee Henderson, Laura Ellen McAvoy, Anne Jacobs, Terri Phoenix, and Katie Bemisderfer.
Kate Sochka, a Contemporary Issues Scholar from Ukraine hosted by the International Center for Democratic Governance at the Carl Vinson Institute of Government, met with RLST faculty and students and sat in on relevant classes in April and May to address her interest in management and economic impact of recreational sites. She spoke with interested students and faculty at a seminar on April 16th.
