Hello and Congratulations Alums Diane Davies (B.S. '74, M.Ed. '77) ddavies@uga.edu the 1992 recipient of the RLST Distinguished Alumni Award and State 4-H Specialist for Environmental Education, also known as the "godmother of environmental Education," retired on December 31, 2002. Vicki Pilgrim (B.S. '74, M.Ed. '80) vcpilgrim@dhr.state.ga.us is the Physical Activity Program Manager of Health Promotion Section of Division of Public Health of Georgia Department of Human Resources and is involved in NRPA health-related initiatives. Karen Perkins (M.Ed. '87) kperkins@mail.cc.nih.gov will be the internship supervisor this summer for Anne Jacobs at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD in the Outpatient Pediatric Oncology and Infectious Diseases Unit. Dan Hope (M. Ed. '72, Ed.D. '88) dhopeiii@uga.edu has been hired as a faculty member in the UGA College of Environment and Design and published the chapter "Recreation and Parks." in B. J. Hudson & P. T. Hardy (Eds.) (2002), Handbook for Georgia County Commissioners (pp. 301-312). Athens, GA: Carl Vinson Institute of Government. Amy Brookshire Peck (B.S. '95) amy.pec@nghs.com recently began a position at Foothills Area Health Education Center providing health care recruitment for rural areas in 31 GA counties through classroom presentations, health fairs, camps and career counseling. Amy's previous employer was the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Suzanne Fisher Davis (B.S. '96) sfdavis@putnam-fl.com is Director of Putnam County Parks and Recreation in Palatka, FL. Marci Summer (B.S. '96) cellerdawg@msn.com recently accepted a position as Program Coordinator with Hall County Parks and Recreation. Pia Westeson (B.S. '96) pwesteson@aol.com now resides in Orinda, CA. Joe Skopitz (M.Ed. '98) jskopitz@hotmail.com has recently taken a position working for Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta. Shayle Wigger Cavalli (B.S. '99) scavalli@msn.com is a Recreation Therapist at Dekalb Medical Center, Rehab Results Group, Atlanta GA. Molly (Gainey) McCarty (B.S '99) molly@mgif.rserv.uga.edu is working at UGA in the Molecular and Genetics Instrumentation Facilities, an initiative from the Vice President for Research. She and her husband, Wayne, are expecting their first child in September. Donny Roberson (M.Ed. '00) chds@uga.edu presented his paper "Yellowstone and Older Adults" at the 2003 Southeastern Recreation Research Conference in Asheville, NC, February 19th and received his Ph.D. this May from the UGA Department of Adult Education and completed his Gerontology Certificate. He is working for the UGA Campus Crusade for Christ. Amanda Darley (B.S. '01) amanda_darley@mindspring.com completed her work with Apple Computers and is now with The Mohawk Group in the marketing department. Kristen (Gingera) Lichtenwalner (B.S. '02) hccarson@uga.edu has been accepted to the master's program at the University of Montana. Michael Dutcher (B.S. '02) dutchdog60@hotmail.com continues to work as Program Coordinator for Tift County Recreation Department planning their summer day camp, teaching senior aerobics, and coordinating tennis lessons. Michael recently became engaged to be married. Dov Estroff (M.Ed. '02) successfully completed requirements for his master's degree and graduated December, 2003. Lisa Ferguson (B.S. '02) jordanheitz@hotmail.com is biking across the U.S. for Habitat for Humanity and was a contestant on The Price is Right winning $3000 and a car! Corey Johnson (Ph.D. '02) johnsoncor@mail.ecu.edu accepted a position as a tenure track Assistant Professor in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies at California State University Long Beach. Kris McDonald (B.S. '02) kmcdonald@ccsgeorgia.org is Program Director at Creative Community Services and is responsible for recruiting staff for Camp Wannaplay and Camp Courageous. Johnna Stanley (M.Ed. '02) johnnastanley1@aol.com and Leslie Back (M.Ed. '02) lcblack@arches.uga.edu have both recently passed their examination to become certified by the National Council on Therapeutic Recreation Certification. Melissa Thompson (B.S. '02) mlthompson@hotmail.com is a Recreation Therapist at Coastal Harbor Treatment Center, a residential psychiatric facility for adolescents located in Savannah, GA. Jeff Wreyford (B.S. '02) jeffw@perimeter.org has accepted a position as Director of College Ministries with Campus Outreach Atlanta supported by Perimeter Church. Sheree Allgood (B.S. '03) truga123@netscape.net begins work as a Recreation Therapist on June 2nd at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Laurelwood, GA. Jennifer Jones (B.S. '03) jj2215@hotmail.com interned at Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department this past spring and was immediately hired as a full-time employee. Stephanie Boone (B.S. '03) saphire148@aol.com begins work as a Recreational Instructor in September at Out and About in Boulder, CO. Jessica Grundy (B.S. '03) jessiegrundy@hotmail.com has been hired as an Interrelated Special Education Teacher at Milton High School in Fulton County, GA. Tracy Jones (B.S. '03) ycart81@aol.com is working for Camp Adventure at a military base in Europe this summer. Laura Russ (B.S. '03) lruss@coj.net was the Administrative Assistant for the Economic Development Commission-Sports and Entertainment in Jacksonville, FL and has recently been hired in the Special Events Department for the City of Jacksonville. She will be doing public relations working with marketing, promoting, writing, and researching. Stacey Turner (B.S. '03) LizzardST@aol.com is the Assistant Recreation Director at Hawk's Cay Resort and Marina in Duck Key, FL. Michael Rosenberg (M.Ed. '03) mjrosenberg@msn.com accepted a position as Assistant Health and Fitness Director at the Greater Baltimore Jewish Community Center.
