UGA Admissions Information
Minimum College Preparatory
Curriculum
- English: 4 years, including courses in
literature and composition
- Mathematics: 3 years; or through geometry,
algebra I, and algebra
II
*freshmen entering in 2001 must have a fourth year (trigonometry or
calculus)
- Science: 3 years, including each of the
biological and physical science laboratory courses
- Social Studies: 3 years, including at least each
of American and world history in addition to (preferably)
government/economics
- Language: 2 years of the same foreign or
classical language
*Freshmen entering in 2001 must also have 4 additional course years
within the five core areas or in the fine/performing
arts.

- SAT-I or ACT scores (reported directly from the
testing service)
- school evaluation form, completed by high school
counselor
- official high school transcript (grades at least
through junior year)

- December - March... first notice
- February 1... absolute deadline for postmarking
application and application fee
- March 1... file completion deadline (last day to
submit supplemental materials); This date is not for postmarking - items
must be in the office!
- April... final notice
Average Grades (for
central 50% of freshmen entering in Fall 1998)
- high school GPA = 3.4 - 3.9 on a 4 point scale
Visitation and Tour
Information
- Admissions Information Sessions: Monday through
Friday; 10:30am and 2:15pm (reservations are not required)
- Campus Tours, given through the Visitors Center:
Monday through Friday; 9:00am, 1:00pm, and 3:30pm (reservations
required, call 706-542-0842 one to two weeks in advance)
