HOW TO APPLY

Minimum Qualifications

The Application Process

Applications are accepted throughout the year and can be evaluated whenever a position becomes available in a residence hall.  The formal application process occurs in two phases.

Phase I:  At the end of the Fall quarter through the beginning of the Spring quarter, students are enocuraged to fill out an application for positions opening in September.  All applicants will then be interviewed on the same day with varying times.  This interview process will be one group activity, two group interviews,  and a question/answer period.

Phase II:  Letters will be sent out to all applicants informing them whether or not they have made it to the second round of interviews.  Those that move on will be assigned a residential commuity in which they will interview.  The interview team will consist of various Graduate Residents and a Residence Life Coordinator.  If the applicant is interviewing for both a CA and an RA position, they will also interview with a C.L.A.S.S. Program Consultant.

The finalist of this process are then assigned a community and informed of their status in writing.

    ECP 400

ECP 400 are classes that must be completed by all RA's and CA's.  THhe purpose of the course is to develop an understanding of staff roles within the framework of student developement.  It requires a personal examination of values, life experiences and awareness of differences.  It also helps develop skills needed to be an effective peer helper and successful programmers.

Summer RA's

Summer Resident Assistant positions are only for June through August.  Applications are open to all students including those currently serving or who will be serving as RA's and CA's.  Applicants will be reviewed by the professional and graduate staff of the residence hall and chosen based on application and interview.  There are programming requirements for Summer RA's.
