Why A Yellow Ribbon?
Because a yellow ribbon welcomes home those who have been to war.  Every day in the US, 720 women are casualties of the war against women that is rape.
EXPECT RESPECT...EXPECT RESPECT...EXPECT RESPECT...EXPECT RESPECT...EXPECT RESPECT
Because a yellow ribbon welcomes home those who have been exiled.  Until now, we have consigned those who have been sexually abused to wastelands of blame and humiliation.
EXPECT RESPECT...EXPECT RESPECT...EXPECT RESPECT...EXPECT RESPECT...EXPECT RESPECT
Because a yellow ribbon welcomes home those who have been imprisoned.  Every woman, man and child living in a rape culture is locked behind bars of silence and fear.
EXPECT RESPECT...EXPECT RESPECT...EXPECT RESPECT...EXPECT RESPECT...EXPECT RESPECT
Because yellow is the color of the caution under which we all live.
EXPECT RESPECT...EXPECT RESPECT...EXPECT RESPECT...EXPECT RESPECT...EXPECT RESPECT
And because yellow is the color of the sun that shines on the face of those who are finally free.
