Welcome to the
first on-line edition of the Georgia Journal!
The GCPA executive board decided late last year that we would
try offering an on-line version of the journal for a few years and
then evaluate its usefulness to the GCPA membership. I
would like to thank Angelia Bruce who served as my Graduate
Assistant this year and helped with the creation of this web
site. Please forgive us about form (extra spaces, change in
font style, etc.) this time around as we learn this new
format.
I would like to
thank Dr. Roger B. Winston, Jr. who served as editor of the Georgia
Journal for many years. His dedication to this organization, expertise as a
researcher and writer, and many hours of editing made this one of
the best state college student affairs journals in the country.
GCPA and the field of student affairs in general owe him a
great deal.
Dr. Tom Walter and
Dr. Merrily Dunn have both signed on to be part of the editorial
board for this journal. We plan to offer sections dedicated to useful practitioner
information and book reviews, as well as continuing to be an outlet
for research-based works. The
three of us are all willing to work with aspiring authors who want
to learn how to write as they share information with all of us in
the field.
