A Note From the Editor...Thanks for visiting the Georgia Journal of College Student Affairs! In this edition, you will read two articles that pertain to a serious, but all too common subject student affairs professionals responding to crises, like student suicides. In Ryan Aker's research article, you will hear the voices of housing staff members who dealt with student deaths. The piece by Paladino and Davis takes a different approach, providing a model for responding to such crises. You will also find the submission parameters listed in this edition. I look forward to reading submissions from established and aspiring authors. I am also happy to work with first-time (or second- or third-time) authors with questions. This journal belongs to the student affairs professionals in Georgia, so I hope you will offer your feedback and, more importantly, submit articles, book reviews, and other pieces for consideration. I also hope you will communicate ideas for future issues, topics you would like to read about, and potential authors we can invite to submit manuscripts. Finally, I am excited to relate that we will bring you a special edition of the GJCSA in the spring. The topic will be assessment in student affairs. Please see the submission guidelines for more information. Best
regards, |
