Counseling and Student Personnel Services - Gwinnett Campus

Application Process for Ph.D. Program Finalized

The Department of Counseling and Human Development Services invites applications for the Ph.D. program in Counseling and Student Personnel Services at the Gwinnett Campus. This part-time program is designed to meet CACREP Standards and to prepare graduates to be counselor educators and to assume positions of leadership in P-16 educational settings. This program has an emphasis on social justice, focusing on the ways that counseling professionals may make systemic changes in the settings in which they work.

The admissions requirements are comparable to the on-campus Ph.D. programs but include criteria relevant to the unique characteristics of this program and the accreditation by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).

The application deadline is January 11, 2008 for acceptance into a cohort of 15 students to begin Summer, 2008. Candidates must complete both the UGA Graduate School application process (http://www.applyweb.com/apply/ugagrad/) and the departmental process described below. Top candidates will be invited for an all day interview at the GUC campus on Saturday, February 16, 2008.

Application Process:

Note: The Graduate School admissions process and expectations are different from those of the department; therefore, you will need to pay close attention to the requirements for BOTH.
