Why did you choose UGA’s College Student Affairs Administration (CSAA) program? I was looking for a full-time doctoral program that would provide a supportive environment for my doctoral education. I found that in UGA’s faculty, doctoral students, structure of the program, and assistantship opportunities.
Student Affairs Interest/Research interest: My dissertation research is exploring how student affairs professionals view their work roles. Other interests include first generation college students, issues of retention and working with families, student support and behavioral intervention, moral development, faith and spirituality, men and masculinity, and living-learning programs and communities

Why did you choose UGA’s College Student Affairs Administration (CSAA) program? I chose UGA for the faculty and the research options that would be available to me. During my search for a doctoral program that would best fit my needs I was impressed that students were able to focus on their own research initiatives as well having an opportunity to research with faculty.
Student Affairs Interest/Research interest: My research interest will focus on first generation students of color who are transferring to a four year institution from a community college and how this impacts their involvement at the four year institution.

Why did you choose UGA’s College Student Affairs Administration (CSAA) program? I am enrolled in the College Student Affairs Administration (CSAA) Doctoral Program at UGA in order to further my deep interest in the student affairs profession. The program emphasis on student development, research, and teaching align well with my professional goals of being an administrator, researcher, and professor. Through gaining a doctorate at UGA, I am certain I will be prepared for a long career in all three areas. Furthermore, UGA’s program stood out among the rest for me because of its outstanding reputation, faculty, financial support, and location.
Student Affairs Interest/Research interest: My professional interests are in the areas of residence life, judicial programs, and multicultural/LGBT affairs. My research interests include student and identity development, organizational and institutional climate, access and equity, multicultural populations and competencies, gender roles, organizational and institutional climate, student leadership and mentoring, and technology.

Why did you choose UGA’s College Student Affairs Administration (CSAA) program? I chose the program because of the match between my research interests and those of the faculty. Additionally to have an assistantship in an area that will provide challenge in growth in assessment. Really, it was the whole package best fit.
Student Affairs Interest/Research interest: I am interested in professional preparation of student affairs practitioners, multicultural skill development, and the use of sociological and cultural anthropological theory in interventions in student affairs practice.
