University Requirements
The University requirements and policies related to graduate enrollment and the M.Ed. can be found on this webpage: http://gradschool.uga.edu/academics/prof_degrees.html#promastereducation All material quoted below is taken from this site unless otherwise noted. The information below highlights important topics relevant to CSAA-M; however, this is provided for information only. The most current information provided by the University supersedes what appears here. If at any time during your program of study you are confused about degree requirements or procedures, please consult with your advisor or the Coordinator of the CSAA program.
Time Limit
The University requires that “all requirements for a professional masters degree must be completed within six (6) years beginning with the first registration for courses on the student’s program of study. An extension of time may be granted only on conditions beyond the control of the student”. It is the expectation of the department that students admitted to the College Student Affairs Administration masters program on a full-time basis will complete all requirements for the masters degree in two calendar years.
Grade Point Average
“No grade below C will be accepted on the program of study. To be eligible for graduation, a student must maintain a 3.0 (B) average on the graduate transcript and a 3.0 (B) average on the program of study.”
Program of Study
The program of study is made up of all the courses already taken and the courses that will be taken to complete degree requirements. The program of study, approved by the advisor and the graduate coordinator, just be submitted to the Graduate School as specified by the relevant policy. The CSAA-M requires the program of study to be submitted prior to the end of fall semester in the second year of study. Once the program of study is filed, any changes in the courses taken must be approved by the advisor and graduate coordinator (Dr. Laura Dean) before taking the course(s). A change of program of study form also must be filed with the Graduate School for each change made. These forms are available from the Department Academic Advisor in 402 Aderhold. The Program of Study form should be filed with the Graduate School no later than Fall Semester of the second year of study. Forms can be obtained from the departmental office in 402 Aderhold.
Institutional Policies Related to Students
Students are encouraged to become familiar with University-wide policies which apply to all enrolled students. Pay particular attention to policies pertaining to drug/alcohol use, sexual harassment, safety and security, parking, use of space, and facilities. These are some important student life issues to be familiar with prior to beginning your program of study.
