History - Georgia Center for Assessment

1984

Test Scoring and Reporting Services (TSARS) is established to provide test scoring, test development, survey research, and training services to the Georgia Department of Education, individual school systems, university programs, state agencies, and nonprofit organizations. (GCA)

Bill Ripley served as the founding director of TSARS. (GCA)

1992

Dave Payne becomes TSARS director. (GCA)

2001

Steve CramerSteve Cramer becomes TSARS director. (GCA)

2005

TSARS is renamed the Georgia Center for Assessment (GCA) to reflect the wider activities the center was pursuing, test development and evaluation in addition to scoring. (GCA)
