Urban and suburban parents in Needham, Mass., are exploring racism and
the tensions of school integration through a book club. Without this
group, the arents' only connection would be through their children, who
attend the same elementary schools in this mostly white suburb an hour
outside Boston.

There's a dearth of male African-American teachers in South Carolina. Clemson University is sponsoring the "Call Me Mister" project to recruit, train and place 200 black men in South Carolina's elementary public schools. This site provides information about the program, including background on how to qualify. You can also learn how to donate to the project.
