People: Action Team Members

The Design Team has been working hard to make the most of this planning year for the Partnership: teams have visited outstanding programs around the country, groups and individuals have collected information on effective practices, and we are ready to begin the more focused work that will take place in Action Teams. These teams will include faculty and parents from Chase Street and Gaines Elementary, other interested educators from across CCSD and UGA, and community members. We are casting a wide net so as many people as are interested can get involved, either by serving on an Action Team, participating in focus group discussions, or just sharing ideas with someone on the Design Team. Now is the time for those of you who have an interest in a particular aspect of school improvement through university-community-school partnerships to get involved. We are estimating that most Action Teams will meet 1-2 times a month, so there is a time commitment. Everyone has a full plate, but if working to improve the effectiveness of education in Athens-Clarke County is important to you, please consider making space for working with other committed community members. The following Action Teams are beginning their work this fall. Please contact Jenny Oliver if you would like to serve on one of these teams.
