Bud Cooper joined the Athletic Training Education faculty at UGA in the Fall of 2008. He received his Ed.D. from The University of Georgia where his research interests focused on exertional heat illness among collegiate football players. Bud completed his Master’s degree from the University of Houston and undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh where he competed as an all conference sprinter on the track team. Previously, Bud was the Program Director of Athletic Training Education at Georgia College & State University. Bud has served as President of the Georgia Athlete Trainers Association and is currently Co-Chair of the SEATA Educator’s conference. Bud was appointed as Co-Head Athletic Trainer for Track and Field events for the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games and as Head Athletic Trainer for the racewalk and marathon venues for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Bud has also served as Chief Medical Supervisor for the Atlanta Peachtree Road Race from 1987 – 2000 and the Atlanta Marathon from 1986 - 1998. In 2006, Bud was recognized by the National Athletic Trainers Association for the “Athletic Trainer Service Award”. Bud is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has a research interest in the area of exertional heat illness among collegiate football players, where his research has been presented nationally and internationally

Mike Ferrara is Professor in Kinesiology and Program Director of Athletic Training at University of Georgia. He received his doctorate degree from Penn State University, Masters degree from Michigan State University and undergraduate degree from Ithaca College in New York. Mike has been very active in research and has published in leading sports medicine journals. He is also served as President of the World Federation of Athletic Training and Therapy from 2000-2005. Mike is recognized for his international expertise and leadership in athletic training. He has given numerous lectures around the world to include Japan, China, and Europe. Mike was Director of Medical Operations for the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games and served as medical coordinator the US medical team for the 1994 World Athletic Championships and the 1992 Barcelona Paralympic Games. He also was the athletic trainer for the 1990 World Games, 1987 Pan American Games, 1985 Olympic Festival, 1983 World University Games an the 1982 National Sports Festival. Mike was inducted in the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Hall of Fame Class of 2009 and he was also recognized as the Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer in 2003 and as the Outstanding Athletic Training Educator in 2001.

Michael Huang is Professor in Athletic Training and Health and Director of the Graduate Institute of Coaching Science at the National College of Physical Education and Sports in Taiwan. He received his first master degree in athletic administration from Springfield College in Massachusetts and second master degree and doctoral degree from Indiana University in athletic training. A native of Taiwan, Mike has been very active in promoting international understanding and education in athletic training. He had served on the international committee of NATA and WFATT for over ten years and has given numerous lectures around the world to include China, USA, Japan, and Korea. Before return to Taiwan, Mike was a full time athletic trainer at Indiana University for two years and graduate athletic training program director at San Jose State University. Mike not only showed his clinical talent in practical setting serving athletic trainers on numerous Taiwan’s Olympic, Asian Games, World University Games delegations, but also demonstrated his administrative skills on serving the Deputy Minister of Sports in Taiwan.
