Cultural Events

Taipei City

We will explore Taipei City to visit historical sites, museums and shopping areas such as the Taipei 101 one of the world's tallest building, the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and the National Palace Museum. The National Palace Museum has one of the largest collections of Chinese artifacts and artwork in the world. We will visit several night markets for shopping, several temples and go to a natural hot springs in the mountains.

Toroko Gorge

We will travel to Toroko Gorge, one of Taiwan's premiere cultural attractions. The Toroko Gorge is a spectacular marble canyon. There are the red suspension bridges, temples set in mountains and the famous Eternal Spring Shrine. The Shrine is built over a waterfall and dedicated to the 450 people who died making the Cross-Island Highway that runs along the gorge. We will also see an Aboriginal show and go white water rafting while in the area.

Penghu Beach

Penghu Beach is located on an island off the southwest coast of Taiwan on Tungpan Island. Tungpan Island, named to describe its resemblance to barrel plates, is composed of walls of basalt columns. These spectacular formations have given the island its reputation as "Penghu's Yellowstone Park," especially the sea-eroded plain, known as the "Lotus Terrace," on the southwest side of the island. The rows of packed hexagonal basalt columns that form a high sea cliff and unusual geological basalt scenery are so majestic. The Penghu basalt in all its grandeur, like engravers' elaborate workmanship deserves appreciation and praise.
