About the Office of the Associate Dean for Research & External Affairs Research Information & Resources Public Information / Communications |
COE Faculty Research Funding - MissionThe COE Office of Research, Technology, and External Affairs is responsible for supporting the research mission of the college. To do this, we offer support for principal investigators, such as identifying funding opportunities, editorial and graphics support for grant proposals, assistance with budgets for grant proposals, and post-award budget management . In addition, through the communications office, we work to disseminate information about our externally funded projects. Related to these efforts is our support of faculty new to grant work. Working with OVPR and the Contracts and Grants office, we offer workshops on aspects of proposal development and grant management and have traditionally had a number of programs to support faculty, particularly early career faculty, as they develop proposals for external funding. The college has set aside research-generated funding to support these faculty research and development programs. The actual number of awards granted will be contingent on available funding each fiscal year. The COE Research Advisory Committee provides advice and counsel regarding the best uses of the college’s resources to enhance our research mission. The Council will make recommendations regarding proposals to be funded. Each year, a report of projects funded and their outcomes will be presented to both the COE Faculty Senate and the Academic Cabinet.
