School-to-Work

Assessing Georgia's Progress in Building School-to-Work Systems (2002 - 2006)

Project undertaken to document and analyze Georgia's progress in building school-to-work systems congruent with the state vision and guiding principles. Data collected through surveys, interviews, document review, case studies, and on-site visits to 41 STW partnerships throughout the state to provide a) information about Georgia's STW for federal accountability and national reporting and evaluation; b) information to the extent to which Georgia met the objectives of its federal grant application; c) evidence of participation and impact of STW activities implemented by local partnerships; and d) an assessment process, information, and feedback that local STW partnerships could use for ongoing improvement to sustain changes. Technical Assistance for Georgia's School-to-Work Local Partnerships (2002 - 2003)

Project undertaken for the Georgia School-to-Work office to provide information to local STW partnerships in Georgia to assist them to work effectively with partners, use STW resources to create change, document impact of STW activities, understand federal STW legislation and learn from best practices. Conduct needs assessments of local partnerships, organize and conduct regional workshops and cluster meetings, conduct research and web reviews of STW best practices, and disseminate via Georgia STW web site.

Regional School-to-Work Needs Assessment for the Northeast Corridor Youth Partnership (2000 - 2001)

This inquiry was commissioned to conduct school-to-work needs assessment research with Gwinnett County, Winder-Barrow County, North Fulton County, and Buford City high schools to identify career development and work transition program needs. This needs assessment included the design and administration of five total survey questionnaires, one for each of the five groups of stakeholders; high school student, high school teachers, middle school teachers, parents of high school students, and employers in the Northeast Corridor Youth Partnership region.

Regional School-to-Work Needs Assessment for the Northeast Georgia Youth Opportunities Council (Lanier Tech) (1999 - 2000)

This planning and needs assessment examined the effectiveness and identified gaps in the current School-to-Work (STW) efforts in the six county services area of the Northeast Georgia Youth Opportunities Council. In order to determine how to strengthen and/or expand STW programs and services through STW Implementation Grant funding 13 focus groups were conducted, and included community representatives, educators, and students from 17 schools in the service area.
