Evaluation of Staff Development in Georgia Schools: Site Visits (2002)
ORG conducted a series of on-site observations to examine the implementation and effectiveness of Georgia's staff development programs for educators; analyzed and reported on data gathered; hired and trained field observer team; developed data collection instruments and protocol; conducted 3-day visits in 12 school systems (36 schools); reviewed documents, interviewed teachers and administrators, conducted focus groups, wrote summaries of each field visit; and prepared and presented findings to staff at the Georgia Department of Education

Design and Implementation of Georgia's Vocational Accountability Systems (Perkins) for Secondary Technology/Career Education (2000 - 2001)
ORG staff assisted GDOE's Director of Career/Technical Education to develop and implement a statewide system for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on vocational student performance to the US Department of Education, as required by federal Perkins legislation. This process involved designing data elements and core indicators of performance for Georgia's secondary schools to use in vocational accountability, reviewing data reports and recommending changes as needed, and preparing reports on baseline and benchmark levels for secondary core indicators.

Norm Referenced Competency Tests Focus Groups in Georgia Public Schools (1999)
ORG worked with the GDOE, Division of Research, Evaluation, and Testing, to solicit input on the revision of norm reference testing in Georgia. ORG staff members designed a focus groups protocol and conducted 9 focus group meetings with educators and community representatives across the state.

Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) Focus Groups (1998)
This project focused on gathering information on development of criterion-referenced competency tests in sciences and social sciences. ORG staff members conducted a series of 8 focus group meetings with educators around the state in order to gain insight into the topic. Results were reported to the Research/Evaluation/Testing Unit of the GDOE.

Special Instructional Assistance (SIA) On-Site Observations (1998 - 1999)
ORG staff members designed and conducted the field observation component of a statewide evaluation of the Special Instructional Assistance (SIA) program in Georgia including site visits for interviews and data collection on program activities.

On-Site Observation from Middle Grades Program Evaluation/Career Exploration in Middle Schools (1997 - 1998)
ORG staff members organized and conducted on-site observations at 47 middles schools in Georgia to collect information about middle grades program implementation as part of Department of Education's comprehensive evaluation of the middle grades program. A secondary analysis of field data was also conducted to identify how career exploration and vocational preparation was being addressed at the middle school level.

Proposal to conduct On-Site Observations as Part of the Middle Grades Program Evaluation for the Georgia Department of Education (1997)
As part of a statewide comprehensive evaluation of the middle grades program implementation at the schools, ORG organized and conducted on-site visits at 47 schools across the state. Additionally, ORG staff members trained teams of field observers and developed data collection instruments and procedures. Qualitative methodologies were employed.
