Curriculum Revisions

Curriculum Revision and Updating for Diversified Cooperative Training (DCT) Program in Georgia Schools (1999 - 2000)

ORG worked with The Georgia Department of Education, Technology/Career Education Division, to revise and update the DCT curriculum guide and coordinators handbooks for high school programs in DCT offered in Georgia schools. ORG also worked with a statewide advisory committee of educators/DCT coordinators and industry representative to develop program standards, based on national research on work-based learning. An updated DCT curriculum guide was created, in both print and electronic format.

Industry Certified Programs in Health Occupations (1998 - 1999)

This project developed industry-validated curriculum standards and a process for industry certification of high school programs in health occupations.

DTAE Program Standards and Guides Revision/Resource Handbook (1997 - 1999)

ORG staff members developed and revised statewide program standards and guides for technical disciplines. Additionally, staff members updated standardized course/program materials and databases and provided related support material for curriculum development. This project was extended to include development of a statewide Resource Manual for High school/Technical Institute Collaborative Initiatives in Georgia.

A Proposal to Research, Develop, and Revise Program Standards and Program Guides and to Provide Related Activities in Support of the Mission of the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education (1993 - 1998)

This series of projects included the comprehensive review and revision of 35 standardized degree/diploma programs, in-service activities support, information management, and research support activities for DTAE and the technical institutes.

Proposal to Develop Academic and Occupational Skills Standards for Georgia Students (1995)

A joint project of ORG and the Department of Occupational Studies at UGA to develop industry-validated standards for 5 occupational cluster areas to be used in statewide in Georgia high schools.
