Current/Ongoing Projects
- Evaluation of Comprehensive School Reform (CSR) Implementation, Impact, and Sustainability in Georgia, 2005-2007
- Client: Georgia Department of Education, Title I Office
- Project Description: External evaluator for 68 CSR-funded elementary, middle and high schools (2005-06) and 82 CSR-continuation schools (2006-07) throughout Georgia to assess implementation, progress, impact, and sustainability of CSR strategies in the schools. Conducted two-day observation visits to each CSR school up to three times each year with teams of trained field researchers to interview key stakeholders (school and system administrators, reform leaders, teachers, parents, support staff, external technical assistance providers). Prepared case study report of each school visit summarizing findings for schools and state education agency. Designed and conducted annual surveys of CSR administrators, teachers, and parents at each school. Compiled, analyzed, and reported results of annual student achievement test performance (CRCT, GHSGT, EOCT) for all CSR schools.

(Title I, CSR Evaluation Data)
- External Evaluation of Georgia Reading First (RF), 2004-2008
- Client: Georgia Department of Education, Reading First Office
- Project Description: External evaluator for 150 RF-funded schools (two cohorts). Conducted onsite observation visits to K-3 classrooms in 100 RF schools each year. Designed and conducted annual surveys of RF administrators, teachers, parents, and literacy coaches at each school. Collected and reported monthly online progress reports from literacy coaches at each school. Compiled, analyzed, and reported progress and impact results of annual student reading test performance (DIBELS, ITBS, CRCT, PPVT) for all RF schools. Prepared monthly and annual evaluation reports on findings from all data sources for state RF office and federal reporting.

- Evaluation of Supplemental Educational Services (SES) in Georgia, 2003-2007
- Client: Georgia Department of Education, Title I Office
- Project Description: Collected, compiled, reported statewide data from all schools in Georgia offering SES each year. Reported statewide data to state agency regarding number/type of students served by SES each year, information on SES providers and their services in GA, and survey results of stakeholder satisfaction with SES. Developed and administered annual online surveys of stakeholder groups (Title I directors, school/system administration, teachers, parents, students, SES providers). Conducted onsite visits to SES systems to interview participants. Assessed academic achievement of SES students using achievement test scores.
