Six recommendations were provided in this evaluation report:

  • Add short video clips

Instead of providing a video tape, putting some short video clips (less than five minutes) in the modules is very useful for the instructors. They can easier demonstrate these clips in the classroom, and ask the students to discuss the content. In addition, the students can also access these resources anywhere with the Internet connection. These short video clips can be either incorporated into the PPTpresentations, or just as a URL link. In addition, the content for the short video clips could be related to current events or popular TV shows or films, which will be more attractive to the students.

  • Add explanations for PPT bullets

The power point slides in these modules are very helpful for the instructors, and they provide many well-structured materials. It is also very good to provide bullets as the key points for each concept, but the instructors might have no idea about what to address in each bullets. Therefore, there need to be more explanations in the slides. These could be a sentence or a link. In addition, it will be nice to provide the instructors additional information beyond the slides, such as readings or Internet resources.

  • Add more guides in case studies

Case studies are great instructional materials for the students to experience the "real world". However, some of the participants suggested the need to have more guides about how to teach these case studies, such as what questions to ask. In addition, having advanced critical thinking questions for graduate students will be helpful. Furthermore, there should be more case studies from which the instructors can choose.

  • Provide visual materials

A piture is worth more than thousand words. These modules contain mostly all texts, and the students could easily get bored. The pictures can be either from magazines or web sites, but they should increase the students' interest. In addition, the instructor can use pictures to convey many different perspectives related to aging in our society.

  • Web design consistency

Be consistent with font and style throughout. For example, In Module 2, the assignment titles are bold; in Module 3, they are in italics.

  • Apply some web site components

It will be nice to have some things like:

    • Updated date
    • Contact information
    • Add the recommendation for best system to view the modules
    • Inform the users when a link will open a new window
